The Student program consists of a total of 9 levels before a student
is cleared to novice (cleared to jump without instructor assistance)
status.
There are two phases included in our student training program.
The first phase is the tandem phase (Levels 1-3).
The second phase is the IAF (Instructor Assisted Freefall) phase
(Levels 4-9).
Here is a brief summary of the student program:
TANDEM PHASE ( Levels 1-3 )
LEVEL 1
This is the introductory skydive. You will be briefed on equipment, airplane exiting, freefall body procedures(including correct body position, altitude awareness, and pulling the ripcord), and landing procedures.
LEVELS 2-3
During your continued training in the tandem phase more skills will be added for each level. These skills are added at a pace that you will be able to absorb and retain for the following levels. Once you have completed all of the tandem maneuvers you have completed the tandem phase(Levels 1-4) and then proceed to the IAF (Instructor Assisted Freefall ) phase.
IAF PHASE ( Levels 4-9 )
LEVEL 4
Now you have your own parachute and your instructor holds on to you as you leave the aircraft and guides you through the freefall portion of the skydive. A ground instructor will then guide you by radio to steer your parachute to the landing area.
LEVELS 5-9
You will complete 4 more levels of the IAF training phase with your instructor, each level adding to your skills and self-confidence. Skills you will learn include performance turns, speed diving, backloops and parachute control.
GRADUATION!
Once you have completed the Tandem and IAF phases of training you can begin to practice your skills alone and with other skydivers. You will be on your way to experiencing the thrills of formation skydiving, freestyle, skysurfing and all the exciting opportunities in the world of skydiving!
